Making Waves

I often use a quote that Joyce Meyer uses quite often: "Worry is down payment on a problem you may never have!" We sit around upset, anxious over issues that haven't even happened or may not happen. For the past few months my worry has been bills, meeting deadlines, coming up with the money etc. After they'd get paid I found myself worrying about the next month and God's like STOP. You're going to lose sleep over this when you could just trust me?
We say that we trust God verbally but our hearts and mind are still turning like how can "I" fix this. Where's your faith? If you're a believer can you honestly say that you full on trust the lord? Stop what you're doing and think about it right now! If he told you to leave your job would you? I did *raises hand* and I've spent days asking God was that your voice knowing good and well it was. When we get comfortable in life he often shakes things up. Do you think your faith would be activated if you were going to a job you liked with people you loved daily? With good hours, benefits and perks? You'd begin to rely on your job, you'd probably pray less if you got along with everyone and if everyone in your office was a "Christian." Pops* bubbles that's not life!
The reality is that you're a Christian who lives in a sinful world with people who may not always agree with you, who may not always treat you like you treat them but you have to walk out what the lord instructed you to. Your prayer life is strengthened from difficult bosses, messy co workers and drama. In those moments and situations God can do his best work through you! Don't worry and stress about your life or think that God is punishing you. Have you ever thought that he just might want to strengthen you? My life scriptures in this season have been: Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
[25] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? [26] Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? [27] Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ? [28] “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. [29] Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. [30] If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you---you of little faith? [31] So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' [32] For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. [33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. [34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. How is it that we say we trust Jesus yet still worry?  And yes those are HIS words, they're written in red so ask yourself again, where's my faith? I believe that the lord has taken me through this difficult season to strengthen my faith and prepare me for whatever is next. Under pressure I can get pretty frazzled, I can get pretty scattered but I'm learning to lay before God and rest. Do not worry about your life!- Cdj
