Daily Study

I try to set aside time every day to spend time with God, my bible, podcast messages, worship music etc so I thought it'd be cool to challenge myself to take at least five days out of each month to share with you about what God is teaching me. I feel like the past year of my life he has just simply been teaching me to trust him in everything. This new year has come and I keep hearing the word "contentment" so I'll roll with that.
One of my life scriptures that I often cling to is Matthew 6:34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."  I found myself clinging to that scripture everyday last year but now I really want act on it and live it out. No high blood pressure this year, stressing over my needs because I know God has me just as he always has. We know that this life is not a bed of roses or a walk on clouds but at times I have found myself asking God for a "break" mentally. I had a pretty great past few months and ending to my year to be honest. I caught up on bills, caught up with old friends and it was a nice ending to a rough year. 1 Peter 5:10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered  a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundatdion." I get so excited when reading that! It gives me great hope and belief that there is purpose in my suffering. Today I am choosing to cling to those two scriptures because even though I'm uncertain about the next step I am certain that God has me covered.- CDJ
